SaaS
SaaS (software as a service) is a model where users can access certain functions of the software remotely. With this model, there is no need to install additional programs on the devices, as all the necessary data is in the cloud. All infrastructure, software, application data or equipment is managed by the service provider, who guarantees the availability and security of your data and software after the contract has been concluded.
Also, there are currently many different CMS available in the SaaS model. This is the ideal solution for small and medium-sized online stores. No programming knowledge is required to select such a model. The whole process is very simple and is often limited to choosing a template or page colors.
and cons of SaaS
The main advantages of the SaaS model are mainly:
- Relatively low purchase costs,
- Quick service start
- Simplified site management,
- Permanent access to the latest versions of the software.
However, the drawbacks are:
- lack of property
- Limited possibility for customization,
- There is no option to transfer the site to another hosting or server.
SAAS or Software as a Service describes the delivery of a service over the Internet in a hosted application. In other words, the eCommerce software runs on the provider's servers. Users do not have to download, install and maintain the software (for e-commerce) themselves.
It stands for Software as a Service. When you pay monthly (or quarterly, annually, etc.) to use a website or app.
In the past, companies sold software (such as Photoshop or Microsoft Word) to you only once. You can then use it forever, until the next major release when you need to buy it again.
Companies now charge you a monthly fee to use the same software, but update it over time. This is SaaS.
Examples:
- Netflix is SaaS.
- Office 365 is SaaS.
- Adobe Creative Cloud is SaaS.
Non-SaaS:
- Uber (no monthly ride costs)
- Latest release in the Madden NFL video game series. (You pay to play)
- Food trucks (pay per meal)
Software as a service is a means of delivering applications over the Internet. Instead of installing and maintaining the software, you access it over the Internet. This way you are freed from complicated software and hardware management.
SAAS stands for Software as a Service. This is a software distribution model where software applications are centrally hosted and licensed on a subscription basis.
