Polymer Memory

Polymer memory refers to memory technologies based on the use of organic polymers. Some of these technologies utilize a controlled read/write change in resistance of conductive polymers. Other architectures are based on ferroelectric polymers. Properties of polymer memory include low cost and high performance, as well as 3D stacking capabilities and mechanical flexibility. Options can be single entry or multiple entry. Printed versions of this technology already exist and are used in low-density applications such as toys.

Literal Meanings of Polymer Memory

Polymer:

Meanings of Polymer:
  1. A long or larger molecule made up of a chain or network of many repeating units formed by the chemical combination of many identical or similar small molecules called monomers. A polymer forms as a result of polymerization, the combination of many monomer molecules.

  2. A material made from such polymeric molecules.

Memory:

Meanings of Memory:
  1. The brain's ability to store and later retrieve information or impressions at will.

  2. A record of a case or event that is stored and available for later use by an organization.

  3. The time in which past events can or will be remembered.
