American Standard Freedom 80 Furnace
American Standard Freedom 80, which carries cool air. The indicator light flashes twice, which means external lock? 3
I have the American Standard Freedom 80 model (model # AUD080C936J1). The inductor motor turns, the ignition is on, and all the burners are lit. But after a few seconds the burner goes off and the inductor motor shuts off. This cycle repeats itself a few times (maybe 510), then fresh air comes in and I see 2 flashes of light. On the dashboard, I see 2 eyelids point to an external lock (more than memory or recycling). I have read elsewhere that the problem may be that the fire sensor needs to be cleaned or replaced, or that the board may be damaged. I haven't tried anything, but I intend to clean the fire sensor. Does anyone else have any idea why this could happen?
This is a fire sensor. They disappear with normal use, especially if your home is close to your dryer or has cat litter in the same room. It is also propane. This is a treatment that must be cleaned with regular care. You can try using very fine sandpaper or steel wool. They may work for a while, but you should consider replacing them.
Ohm's measurement doesn't get you anywhere. Voltage should be measured. Plug in the plug attached to the cigarette lighter. Connect the cable to the connector to see if the cigarette lighter is on. This is a 120V or 24V cigarette lighter. Not sure about this particular race, maybe 120v. If power is never found then there is another problem, the board is asking for power. Check the pressure switch. Measure each side of the switch to the ground to make sure the switch is turned off and to allow p voltage input. Review all limitations and implementation changes. Just follow the voltage in the sequence of events. If you still do not know, contact the HVAC Technician. I like to do it myself because it is, but sometimes you need a professional. You don't want to do anything to void your warranty, so be careful.
There seems to be a problem with the fire sensor.
Clean with fine steel wool or something similar.
You do not need to replace it unless the connection is broken at a good continuity point and this is usually not possible.
The problem with cleaning any abrasive product is that there is a high risk of rust on the surface. Soft is the best.
Where is the fire sensor on rnace aud080c936j1?
Sorry, I do not understand what you are saying.
